Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree - Reflections Technique

Hello Stampers

Welcome to my weekend Blog

Today I am making a card using the "Reflections Technique" and the wonderful Lovely As A Tree Stampin' Up!(SU) stamp set

I started with cutting the cardstock - see below for card recipe. I ran the Marina Mist card through my Bigshot using the "Ruffled" embossing folder, after spritzing the card with a little water. This helps it to emboss better.

Stamp your sentiment and make up the 3 matt layers. Attach them to your card.
To make the reflections, first stamp the image as normal, towards the top of the paper.
Then re-ink and stamp it once again on a piece of
acetate. This piece was cut off a box, you dont have to buy acetate. Ink will wipe off easily so it is reusable. Before the ink can dry, reverse the acetate, line the trees up carefully so that they reflect the first image and press it onto the paper. The reflection will be fainter

Now you can add some colour to show where the water is and where the grass and sky are. Do this using a sponge dauber and the inks. Use small circular movements and stamp off some of the ink before you begin. Used Pear Pizzaz and Marina Mist.

When you have your picture coloured, trim the corners with a corner punch and glue the matts together.

Prepare the sentiment and then assemble the card

Weekend Blog - Stampin' Up! Sheltering Tree Friendship Card

Welcome to my Weekend Blog

Today I am going to show you a card made with the Stampin' Up!(SU) Sheltering Tree stamp set

As the leaves on "My" tree outside my craft room window start to show the hues of autumn, I am looking forward to the annual display of amazing colours in our trees. This card is a nod to Autumn and also to my Friends who help me through hard times

I have made this card so that the image on the front overflows the matt that it is stamped on. This effect can either be done by doing all your stamping and then cutting out the square, or by cutting the square first, and then stamping. I have tried it both ways and both work.

Here I have done all my stamping and then carefully cut out the square. Always stabilize the framelit with Washi tape before running it through Bigshot machine. Once you have the apeture, cut 2 more layers of the same size in the matt colour and make glue the 3 square together to give a nice thickness. Mount with dimesionals

Complete your card as below
