Welcome to my Weekend Blog- Baby Boy Card

My neighbour is impatiently waiting for the birth of her second baby who is now overdue, so I thought that I had better get his welcome card made today!

I have made the card using Soft Sky cardstock, the Bundle of Love DSP and The Moon Baby stamp set.

I stamped with Momento Black ink and coloured in using the Light Pool Party and Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends

I added a bow using Soft Sky 1cm ribbon and will be giving this new little one, one of the teeny baby knitted  hats that I make for my local Delivery Suite where I work

Star of Light and Starlight Thinlit Card - Weekend Blog 4/11/17

Hi and Welcome to my Weekend Blog  

As of this week I will be showcasing Xmas cards using Stampin' Up! products. Today I am using the Star of Light Stamp set and matching Starlight Thinlit Dies, and the Merry Music Designer Series Paper 

I have made this card after seeingone made by Joanne Dibb on Pinterest.
I started with a sheet of Black cardstock, half an A4 sheet folded in half and burnished

I have stamped the sentiments on the front of the card using Versamark ink and Silver Embossing powder. Remember to used your embossing buddy as you do not want bits of silver embossing showing up on your back card

Once embossed, cut a piece of Merry Music DSP 10.5 x 8cm and then rough tear the edges to give you an angled piece. I then dragged the raw edges over the Versamark pad and embossed it with the silver embossing powder.
Attach these to your card front

Now the star.
Cut out the large plain star in Vellum and cut out the fancy star using Silver Foil paper. Attach the silver star to the vellum with the fine tip glue pen and then add to your card with dimensionsals. I have added a piece of silver thread behind the star with double sided tape.

Use a piece of white card for your insert and stamp it with a sentiment and a flourish of stars in black ink

Stampin' Up! Dandelion card, Balloon Celebrations, Colours, Stampin'Jenny

Hi there, Welcome to My Midweek Blog

Today I have made for you two lovely cards using a stamp set that I never expected to get this result from. 

I was looking at a youtube video by Liz Yuille, and was amazed by what she had made. The link to her video is below.

I used the following to make my cards and am so happy with the results. I think I prefer the more open seed head of the blue to the tighter pink seed head.

The effect is made just using the 2 small seed heads on the Balloon Celebration set. The centre of the head is done using the smaller stamp and the outside row using the larger stamp. 

I hope you have a go at making this card and are pleased with the result

Card Recipe:

Stampin' Up! Cardstock - Pool Party / Pink Pirouette - 1/2 A4 sheet for the card, 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 for the matt.

Card stock - Whisper White 5 1/2 x 3 3/4 for the matt which you stamp the seed head pattern on.

Whisper White Cardstock - 5 1/2 x 3 7/8 for the insert.

Weekend Blog - Stampin' Up! Watercolour Wings Card

Hello Friends

 Today I decided to have a little play with the Stampin' Up! Watercolour Wings stamp set. A few hours previously I had tried out using inks on normal cardstock and on watercolour paper to see which I liked the best. I found that the normal cardstock kinda bubbles if it gets too wet - see below

I decided that I really like the look on the far right which is achieved using Stampin'Up! ink, and the Aqua Painters, so this is what I used for my card.

I stamped the butterfly in 3 layers , using the stamp set and cut it out with the Bold Butterfly Framelit die.

I stamped the "Stylized Happy Birthday" inside and added a bow of Pool Party Bakers Twine 

I love these colours and will be making this one again.
